The club’s premier event, the McDonald and Munro Speyside Stages Rally is fast
approaching. Taking place on the weekend of the 21st & 22nd of April, the event will celebrate
it’s silver anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the rally will start on Friday night with
ten miles of stages in the dark.
It’s a busy time for the club and there is still time to get involved if you’re keen.
Entries for the event are open until this Wednesday (12th). If you’re looking to enter, regulations
and an online entry form can be found here:
https://www.rallies.info/webentry/2023/speyside/entries.php?type=u
Currently the event is sitting with 111 entries.
If you’re looking to get involved with the organising, setup or marshalling, the last organising
meeting will take place at the Cottar Hoose this Thursday (13th) starting at 8pm.
Over the next few weeks the club will be looking for help setting up the stages in advance – if you
can help out in anyway either come along to the meeting on Thursday or get in touch with James
Morrison (jamesspeyside@gmail.com).
On the Saturday of the event, Doug Shanks will be looking for (early) help at the Cooper Park to set
the stage up before the rally starts. Anyone that can lend a hand with this please let Doug know
(dougshanksjoinery@mac.com) or turn up to the park at 5am on the Saturday.
Colin Christie is also still on the lookout for marshals to help over the weekend, from the VIP day
on Thursday right though to the rally finish late on Saturday afternoon. There is a variety of
locations and roles that need filled and all experience is welcome. If you can help out, let Colin
know ( 07786017734 or colin.christie63cc@tiscali.co.uk) or fill in this form: www.speyside-
stages.co.uk/marshals/
For anyone looking to spectate on the event, spectator information will be posted on the rally
website and Facebook page nearer the time. Event programmes will also be available to buy locally
in the week leading up to the rally
