Strathbogie Autotest

Strathbogie Autotest Sunday 9th July Held at Cocklarachy and Greenhaugh Farm near Huntly by kind permission from Charles Stewart & Family. The event will follow a similar format to previous running's with test on Concrete,


Entries are now open for the Tour Of Speyside. The 150 mile route using a mixture of roads across the area. Open to any car & non members welcome. Entry fee only £20 includes Rally plate, printed maps & roadbook plus refreshments at the finish. The event will start and finish at Cairnie Hall near Huntly

Club drivers star at Dunoon
A visit to Argyll yesterday proved a tough challenge with the stages and conditions but a number of club crews emerged with great results.

Michael Hendry navigated Mark McCulloch to 4th overall and 1st in class.
Simon Hay put in an excellent drive to finish 7th overall, 1st challenger and 1st in Class! Just behind was John Wink & John Forrest who set some strong times after a stage 1 puncture.

Mike Plum Stuart survived a high speed spin to record 14th overall and 2nd in class in the Escort.

21st overall, 2nd in class, 1st C2 & SRC star driver made for an excellent day for Alex Pirie & Frazer Skene the basic C2 overcoming a broken engine mount to beat higher spec cars.

Gordon Wood navigated Ken Wood to another Class win & 22nd place in the Triumph Dolomite.

Andy Chamlers took the 205 home in 30th place. Daniel Christie navigated Martin Crombie to 46th in the 306 after punctures. Ian & Sandy Milne was 47th and 2nd in class. Ronnie Horne finished 51st in the Subaru.

Scott Mccombie retired after clipping a log. Kenny Foggo retired navigated for Michael Renton.

Thanks to all the club members who made the journey to marshal.

Club Member John Morrison was rewarded with 1st BRC national in the Ypres Rally. Neil Shanks was 6th in the Historic with Tim Pearcy in the MK2. The event saw a lot of retirements.

The SRC now takes a break until the Grampian Stages on 12th August.

Entries are open for the Strathbogie Autotest on Sunday 9th July.

Held at Cocklarachy Farm near Huntly the event will use Tar, cement and some hard packed gravel sections.

Only E marked Road pattern tyres will be permitted. This will include snow and winter tyres marked M+S.
Gravel tyres whether designed for road use or forest stages are specifically excluded. Tyres with the wording “For Competition use only” are not permitted. Studded tyres are not permitted.
